Queen’s University of Brighton Computer Requirements
As part of the acceptance process into Queen’s University of Brighton, the student will be required to sign an Queen’s University of Brighton Student Computer Hardware/Software Requirement agreement. The following outlines the required and recommended computer hardware/software that each student will need in order to attend QUB.
Recommended Minimum Requirements:
- Computer hardware minimal requirement: IBM-Compatible, Windows 2000XP operating system;
- Windows 2000 or more current version
- Microsoft Office 2000 or more current version
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft PowerPoint or equivalent (PowerPoint Reader can be used in most classes)
- Microsoft Excel
- A current anti-virus application
- 256MB RAM (or greater)
- 20GB hard drive (or larger)
- CD-ROM Drive
- 56.6 kbps modem
- 1024x768 (or greater) monitor and video card
- E-mail address
- Internet service
- Microsoft Internet Explorer
- Acrobat or Adobe Reader
- PowerPoint
- Windows Media Player
Recommended:
- Pal Talk software (downloadable)
- Full-Duplex sound card required (for Audio) Sound card with speakers
- USB Digital Web Camera (for video, not required if only viewing)
- Inkjet or laser printer
- DSL or cable modem
